Cooperation:

It means working together common objectives or goals. Cooperation may be brought about by several motivating factors and by situations such as (a) personal gain (b) common purpose (c) genuine desire to help others (altruistic motives) (d) situational necessity and (e) achievement of goals of greater value.

 

Types of cooperation

Direct cooperation

The individual does work together and perform identical function such as playing, worshipping together.

Indirect co-operation

In the present technological age, it requires specialization of skills and functions such as carpenters, plumbers, etc. to build a house. It is based on division of labour.

Primary co-operation

This type of co-operation is found in primary groups such as family. There is identity of interest between the individuals and the group.

Secondary co-operation

This type of co-operation is found in the secondary groups, such as government, industry, trade unions etc.

Tertiary co-operation

This type of co-operation is found in the interaction between the various small and big groups to meet a particular situation such as the congress parties to join hands, leftist to win the poll against opposition parties etc.
