Social perception
Social perception refers to identifying and utilizing social cues to make judgments about social roles, rules, relationships, context, or the characteristics of others. It includes one’s knowledge on social norms, roles, that surrounds social situations and interactions.
The four main component of social perception are;
- Observation: Observation is made when person, situation and behaviour interact.
- Attribution: It is the expression of one’s personality caused by their behaviour during an event or situation.
- Integration: It is the process of organizing the available information in order to understand the impact of personal or situational attributions.
- Confirmation: It is the approval of the impressions.
