Propagation:-

  • It is vegetatively propagated through corms or cormels (size of 40 – 50 cm is used for sowing).
  • Selected sprouted corms are sown in the flat beds or in ridges with spacing 60 X 45 cm and about 5 cm deep. Then bed is mulched with straw.
  • Sowing time is March – April and June- July (for terai). In the hills it is sown in June – July.
