- Lift irrigation is practiced when the water supply is too low and level to run by gravitation on/to the land.
- In Such a circumstance, water is lifted up by mechanical means.
- Irrigation from well is an example of lift irrigation in which sub soil water is lifted upto the surface and is then conveyed to the agricultural fields.
