Environmental Hazards:
- The risks that cause imbalance in healthy environment are called environmental hazards. These hazards are the products of many things. The main causes of the environmental hazards in Nepal are:
a) Human population explosion
b) Unplanned urbanization
c) Deforestation
d) Technological advancement
e) Profit oriented capitalism
f) Lack of environmental awareness
Pollution and types of pollution:
- Pollution is an undesirable change in the physical, chemical or biological characteristics of air, land and water that may or will harmfully affect human life or that of desirable species, our industrial process, living conditions and cultural assets; or that may or will waste or deteriorate our raw material sources.
- Pollutants are residues of the thing we make, use and throw away. In short, environmental pollution means a sort of imbalance of the natural ecosystems by the potentially harmful substances introduced into the environment. Pollutants are thus unwanted substances or materials that cause pollution.
