Physiological plant disorders:

A) Natural

o Drought

o Frost damage, and breakage by snow and hail

o Flooding and poor drainage

o Nutrient deficiency

o Salt deposition and other soluble mineral excesses (e.g., gypsum)

o Wind (windburn, and breakage by hurricanes and tornadoes)

o Lightning and wildfire (also often man-made)

 

B) Man-made (arguably not abiotic, but usually regarded as such)

o Soil compaction

o Pollution of air, soil, or both

o Salt from winter road salt application or irrigation

o Herbicide over-application
