Types of event sampling
a. Signal contingent:
- Random beeping notifies participants to record data.
b. Event contingent:
- Records data when certain events occur.
c. Interval contingent:
- Records data according to the passing of a certain period of time.
Disadvantages of event sampling
- Invasive and intrusive
- Often leads to self-selection bias.
- All participant mayn’t cooperate
- Highly vulnerable to common method variance
