Post harvest Management

a) Pre-cooling:

  • Done to remove field heat before packing.
  • Fruit surface must be free from moisture before grading, wrapping or packing in cartoon.

 

b) Grading:

  • According to fruit size and fruit appearance or quality.
  • Apple fruits can be graded in three or more quality grades.
  • Divided into Extra fancy, fancy class1 and fancy class 2.

 

c) Storage:

  • Can be stored to 4-8 months.
  • Store in the cold storage at the temperature -1.1-0 degree c.
  • Humidity : 85-90 %.
