Discharge Capacity of the Channel

  • It is obtained from the following formula.

 

Q = a.v  

Or, Q = V of discharge/ time taken

 

Where,

Q= Discharge capacity, m3/sec

a = Cross-sectional area of the wetted section of the channel

v = mean velocity of flow in channel , m/s.
