Hardy Weinberg law

  • Genes and genotype frequencies in a mandalian population remains constant throughout the generation if there is no mating, mutation, selection or random drift.

 

Fitness

  • Relative reproductive success of different genotype is called fitness
  • Denoted by ‘W’ and value ranges between 0 and 1.

 

Selection coefficient

  • Magnitude of selection against a genotype.
  • Denoted by S and value ranges between 0 and 1.
