Legs and their modification

  • Contains 5 segments:

a) Coxa

b) Trochanter

c) Femur: Largest and strongest part of leg.

d) Tibia

e) Tarsus

  • Last segment of leg
  • 1st segment: metatarsus
  • Last segment: Pretarsus
  • In louse, only one claw in leg.
  • Arolium pads is present in tarsus.
