Normal distribution ( Gaussian distribution)
- Probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean.
- Data that are near the mean occurs more frequently than data that are far from mean.
- Appears as a bell curve
- In Normal distribution, mean is zero and Standard deviation is 1.
- Skewness is 0 and kurtosis is 3.
- Are symmetrical in nature.
- Symmetric distribution isn’t always normal distribution because it mayn’t form two mirror images.
- It is a continuous probability distribution which is bell shaped, unimodal and symmetrical.
- The normal distribution of a variable when represented graphically, takes the shape of a symmetrical curve known as Normal curve
- This curve is asymptotic to x-axis (baseline) on either side.
