Environmental Protection Council

EPC was established in October 1, 1992. It is an authorized body to think, execute, monitor and coordinate activities of ministries and agencies relating to environment.

EPC Objectives

1.To support sustainable development

2.To identify and mitigate adverse impacts on the environment

3.To manage natural and physical coordination between environmental

conservation and development efforts

4.To maintain balance coordination between environmental conservation

and development efforts.

5.To give priority in the formulation of special protection and conservation

Policies and Plans.

6.To utilize, manage, develop, conserve and recycle natural and physical

resources

7.To formulate Acts and Laws related to environmental issues

8.Develop institutions for effective implementation of environmental laws

and policies
