Dimension of individual bed :

  • Area of seed bed is 5% of main field or 500 m2 per ha.
  • Length depends on farmers convenience generally 8-10 m.
  • Width : 1-1.5 m
  • Height : 10-15 cm.
  • Spacing between beds : 30-50 cm.
  • Spacing faciliate sowing , irrigation , drainage and intercultural operations like weeding , fertilization , spraying chemicals.
