Seedling raising in Nursery bed:

For transplanted finger millet , nursery preparation should be done.
Seed bed should be friable and weed free for accelerated germination of small seed.
Size of individual bed = 3 m length , width = 1.5 m , height = 10-15 cm , spacing between beds = 30 cm.
Size of seed bed = 500 m².
Row spacing = 5 cm.
Depth = 3 cm.
Mulching can be done immediately after sowing by thin layer of soil and compost on dry leaves or straw to protect seed from direct exposure to sunlight , irrigation water.
Seedling are ready to transplant at 25-30 DAS.
