Enzymes:

  1. ALT/SGPT : it is mainly found in liver and small amount in the muscle. It is increased in the blood of animals during hepatic jaundice and is very specific in dogs and cats.
  2. AST/SGOT: it is also found in liver and cardiac muscles. It gets increased in animals during hepatocellular damage.
  3. Gamma GT: it is increased in blood during excessive alcohol intake.
  4. ALP: it is present in the biliary canaliculi and gets increased during obstructive jaundice. It is also called as marker of obstructive jaundice.
