Enzymes serving as the marker for pancreatic disease:

  1. Amylase : Amylase is mainly synthesized by salivary gland and pancreas. Amylase is increased in blood during pancreatitis and salivary gland disease. Its value is upto 3000IU/L but grately increased in disease conditions.
  2. Lipase : It is also secreted by pancreas and increases during pancreatitis. Its normal value is 80-300IU/L.

 

 

Enzyme serving as marker for gastric disease:

  1. Pepsinogen : IT is secrected by stomach and gets increased during gastritis and damage to gastric mucosa. Its normal value is 1000-1500IU/L.
