Methods of people participation

1. Action Learning: It is an educational method that lets participants study their own experiences and actions to help learn more and solve problems.

 

2. Area Forums: Area forums are meetings held in a locality, often held by the local council for a certain issue and get the feedback from them.

 

3. Appreciative Inquiry: Promoting positive thinking by identifying and building on what works and involving lots of people through outreach by the core group who create the questions in the first place.

 

4. Citizen Advisory Groups : Used for seeking direction from citizens over a specific issue or set of issues.

 

5. Community Development :Community Development is used particularly in disadvantaged areas or with sections of the population who are at risk of exclusion, facing difficult conditions or who need to overcome oppression and inequality.

 

6. Consensus Voting :For any system of voting, is it within an organization or on a local/national scale. Can be used for the starting point for a discussion to arrive at an agreed decision (taking the vote into account).

 

7. Focus Groups:Focus groups allow for an in depth discussion on a specific topic with a few people over a couple of hours. It allows the client to have a greater understanding of what may lie behind an opinion or how people approach an issue.
