Components of rice threshing machine

Paddy thresher (pedal operated) consists of;

I. Body frame: – it consists of base, the side frame, the front grain shield and rear grain shield.

ii. Cylinder: – it has slats, cylinder end disc and threshing teeth

iii. Drive mechanism: – the drive of pedal thresher is of eccentric type. Drive consists of crank, one end of which is connected to a spur gear.

Drive mechanism consists of;

1. Gear housing: – it consists of spur gear which engage pinion for transmitting power
2. Crank
3. Pedal frame fulcrum
4. Pedal board
5. Axle: – the axle is supported by bearing with loose balls in cup and cones and is protected by suitable guards.
