Types of combine harvester

A) Self-propelled combine harvester: – It has got its own independent engine. This engine gives power for operating all the mechanism as well as for pulling the weight of the combine. The size of such combine varies from 2 to 4 meters.

B) PTO driven type: – The tractor pulls the combine by its tractive power. The PTO shaft of the tractor supplies the power to their cutting and threshing mechanism. The power requirement of the combine may be taken as 8 hp per meter width of cut for pulled type machine.
