How to select a farmstead?

1) According to the management point of view: farmstead should be constructed in the center of farm so that its easy to manage all the activities.

2) According to the transport facility: one side or even corner near a road is always helpful for farmstead. It helps for production supply as well as raw materials supply. It gives the better social life and the protection. Electricity facility should also be provided. In the corner, milk room, storage room can be made.

3) According to the elevation of land: the location should be selected in the high elevated area. It provides the natural drainage facility.

4) According to the water supply facility: farmstead should be constructed near to well or water supply sources, water pipes.

5) According to the wind protection: tree around the farmstead protect the high wind velocity and dust strom as well as it provides the shed for man and animals.

6) According to the orientation: in hot weather the building should be constructed in west-east direction with longitudinal face and in cold north- south face.

7) According to residential building: residential building should be constructed not so far from the farm houses. It should be away from the cattle shed i.e. there should be moderate distance. We should avoid prevailing wind blow from the animal house and there should be minimum distance to walk.
