Method of Propagation

a) Suckers: (appear on upper parts of rhizome. Eg. Sword, Water, Maiden). There are two types of suckers.

i) Water sucker: small, undersized suckers of superficial origin bearing broad leaves.

ii) Sword sucker: suckers with a well – developed base and pointed tip having narrow sword shaped leaf bladers in the early stage. They are more vigorous, grows faster and comes to bearing early.

d) Tissue culture techniques: The apical meristem is provided with the nutrient media and auxin (NAA, IBA, IAA @1mg/lit), Charcoal 0.025% to create satisfactory root and shoot system.
