Technical support constraints

• There is low priority for fruit research, poor allocation of fiscal resources, weak extension system of horticulture, lack of trained manpower, inadequate technical information, etc.
• Also, there is lack of coordination between education, research and extension institutions.

Socio-Economic constraints

• Most of the Nepalese have small and fragmented holdings which are primarily occupied by cereals and it is really difficult to persuade farmers to grow fruit tress instead of cereals.
