Attributes of common carp that makes it suitable for culture

  • Is hardy; It can tolerate wide range of temperatures, dissolved oxygen(D/O), pH, salinity and turbidity.
  • Is omnivore; Feeds on zooplankton (when young) as well as bottom invertebrates, detritus, etc. ( when adult).
  • Can easily fatten on cereals and leguminous seeds.
