Methods of packaging and transportation of fish

  1. Open system:
  • Containers aren’t sealed.
  • Have increased surface area to prevent over crowding and facilitate mixing of atmospheric oxygen in water.
  • Done by using earthen pots, plastic pots, metal pots, etc.

 

 

  1. Closed system:
  • Containers are sealed with oxygen.
  • May be plastic bags, plastic tanks or aluminum and galvanized iron sheet boxes.
