Biogas

  • The combustible gas obtained by anaerobic decomposition of different organic waste such as cattle dung, agricultural and forest waste, aquatic plants (water hyacinth) is called biogas.

 

 

Composition of biogas:

  1. Combustible gas
  2. Methane: 45-60%
  3. Hydrogen: 1 to 10%
  4. Non-combustible gas
  5. CO2: 30 to 40%
  6. NH3 and H2S: traces.
