Climate:
- Turmeric is a tropical crop grown from almost at sea level to 1400 masl.
- The optimum temperature range is 20 – 30 0C with an annual rainfall of 150 – 250 cm.
Soil
- Turmeric can be grown almost all the soils.
- However, it thrives best on well drained sandy loam to clay loam soils rich in organic matter.
- Soil pH = 5.5-6.5
