Climate:

• Turmeric is a tropical crop grown from almost at sea level to 1400 masl.
• The optimum temperature range is 20 – 30 ⁰C with an annual rainfall of 150 – 250 cm.

Soil

• Turmeric can be grown almost all the soils.
• However, it thrives best on well drained sandy loam to clay loam soils rich in organic matter.
• Soil pH = 5.5-6.5
