Diseases
a) Wilt (by Fusarium oxysporiuma fungus).
Symptoms:
- Leaves turn yellow, roots rot, entire plant wilt.
Treatment:
- Drenching soil around the plant with copper oxychloride (2gm/lit) will prevent wilting of the plants.
Insect/pest
a) Hairy caterpillar:-
- Long dirty brown caterpillars feed on leaves and bark at night.
Control:
- Collect and destroy the caterpillars.
- In severe cases, spray 0.05% Endosulfan.
b) Leaf caterpillar:-
- Small greenish caterpillars feed on the leaves and flowers.
Control:
- Same as above.
