Field preparation

  • Four to five ploughing and leveling of land is needed
  • Direct sowing
  • Seeds should be planted in ridges
  • Provision should be made for drainage

 

a) Seed rate-

  • 750 gm/ ropani for summer crop
  • 500 gm/ ropani for rainy season crop• Spacing
  • Summer crop- 60 cm x 15 cm
  • Rainy crop- 100 cm x 20 cm

 

b) Manuring and Fertilizer

  • Compost- 1 mt/Ropani, NPK- 3, 2, 2 kg
  • Sweet peper- Compost- 1 mt/Ropani, NPK- 4, 3, 3 kg per ropani
  • Application- Compost and 2kg N, PK as basal dose, 0.5 kg of N after one month of transplanting and 0.5 kg of N during flowering and fruiting stage

 

c) Irrigation:

  • 4 days interval in summer crop
  • 7-10 irrigation during the crop period for rainy crop

 

d) Intercultural operation

  • 4 hoeing at 15 days interval to control weeds
  • Chemical control of weeds- Apply Basalin @125 ml per crop
