Harvesting
- Tender young but fully developed fuits should be harvested every alternate day
- Frequent picking promotes fruit development and increase yield
- Fruits become ready for harvest 7 days after flowering
- Yield: 600-700 kg/ropani
- Third- at the time of fruit ripening on the basis of fruit character
- The plants affected by viruses and other diseases should be removed regularly
Method of seed extraction/preparation
- Harvest complete ripened pods at 4-6 days interval
- Keep them in sun for drying and thresh them
- Dry properly and maintain moisture to 10% level
- Yield 10-15 quintal per ha
Seed production
- Rarely cross pollination crop
- Isolation distance- 400m (Foundation seed) and 200m (Certified seed)
Roguing and field inspection
- Regular inspection at least thrice is required during growth period
- First- Before flowering on the basis of growth characters- Remove off type plant
- Second- at the time of flowering on the basis of flower characteristics
