Harvesting and Yield

  • Coriander matures within 100 – 150 days of sowing.
  • It is harvested when whole plant turns yellow or brownish yellow.
  • Leaf plucking (50%) 75 days after sowing helps to generate extra income.
  • Harvesting of seed is done either uprooting the whole plant or cutting the plant.
  • After harvesting small bundles are made and spread in shade to dry for 2 – 3 days.
  • The seed (fruits) are then separated by light beating with stick and winnowing.

Storage

  • After threshing fruits are dried under partial shade.
  • After complete drying, they are sieved properly.
  • Clean and dry seed are filled in bags and are stored in damp free aerated stores.
