  • It can be grown in Nepal from the terai to the high hill with the adjustment of season.
  • In the high hills it is a summer season crop where as in the mid hills to the terai it is a winter season crop.
  • In the high hills it can also successfully be grown all the time except the freezing month.
  • It can tolerate frost and snow.
  • The opt. temperature for its proper growth and development is 15 – 20o

 

Soil

  • It grows well under loam soil with high organic matter content.
  • However, it is grown in almost all type of soil
