Physiological disorder
a) Fruit cracking
- May be caused by long dry followed by heavy rainfall or irrigation or boron deficiency
- Big difference between day and night temp. may also cause the problem
b) Sun scald
- Caused by high temp. (>40°C)
- Lesion appear at the beginning followed by fungal attack
- Less prominent in erect type plant
c) Puffiness
- Mainly due to poor fertilization
- Extremely low or high soil moisture may lead to poor fertilization
- Regular irrigation and spraying boron may reduce the problem
