Automated Nutrient Management (Fertigation)

a. Fertigation Principle

  • Fertilizers are dissolved in water and delivered via irrigation.
  • Controlled automatically by pumps and dosing systems.

b. Automation Features

  • Monitors EC (nutrient concentration) and pH (nutrient availability).
  • Adjusts fertilizer concentration in real-time.
  • Prevents over-fertilization or nutrient leaching.

c. Types of Automated Nutrient Delivery

  • Proportional dosing system: Injects fertilizer based on water flow.
  • EC/pH controlled dosing system: Adjusts solution automatically to target EC and pH.
  • Computer-controlled fertigation system: Fully integrated with irrigation, climate control, and plant growth stages.
