a. Active heating greenhouse

  • During nights in high altitudes, we need to raise the temperature of greenhouse by various active heating methods which includes low ventilation area, double layer polythene, glasses or use heating systems, such as unit heaters, central heat, and solar heating systems.
  • Active heating greenhouse may have higher cost of operation during extreme of climatic conditions.

b. Active cooling greenhouse

  • In lower altitudes or high intensive areas active cooling greenhouse should be constructed.
  • Fan and Pad system greenhouse is most common type for active cooling.
  • This type of greenhouse has > 40% open or ventilation areas, fan and pad, temperature control units, etc.
