Sources of Macronutrients

Macronutrients

Sources

Nitrogen (N)

·         Calcium nitrate (Ca(NO₃)₂)

·         Potassium nitrate (KNO₃)

·         Ammonium nitrate (NH₄NO₃)

·         Urea (limited use due to slow hydrolysis in soilless systems)

Phosphorus (P)

·         Monopotassium phosphate (KH₂PO₄)

·         Phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄)

·         Monoammonium phosphate (MAP, NH₄H₂PO₄)

Potassium (K)

·         Potassium nitrate (KNO₃)

·         Potassium sulfate (K₂SO₄)

·         Potassium chloride (KCl – limited use due to chloride sensitivity in crops)

Calcium (Ca)

·         Calcium nitrate (Ca(NO₃)₂)

·         Calcium chloride (CaCl₂ – limited use due to chloride toxicity)

Magnesium (Mg)

·         Magnesium sulfate (MgSO₄·7H₂O)

·         Magnesium nitrate (Mg(NO₃)₂)

Sulphur (S)

·         Magnesium sulfate (MgSO₄·7H₂O)

·         Potassium sulfate (K₂SO₄)

·         Sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄ – used also for pH adjustment)
