Miscellaneous plants

a. Herbs, spices and condiments

  • These plants provide special flavors, scents and color to the food and the crops with curative laxative (medicinal) and pesticide properties
  • Example: Vanilla, Nut meg, Mint, Black pepper, etc

 

b. Beverage crop

  • These crops are used for brewing drinks and are non-alcoholic
  • Example: Coffee, Tea, Cocoa,

 

c. Oil yielding crops

  • These crops are grown for their oil content
  • Example: Sunflower, Castor etc

 

d. Plant yielding rubber, latex and gums

  • The products of the sap of these plants are obtained by tapping from the bark
  • Example: Rubber plant, Papaya, etc.
