Technical Consideration for the effectiveness of ethylene
- Temperature: 180C to 250C
- Relative humidity: 90 to 95%
- Ethylene concentration: 10 to 100ppm
- Duration of treatment: 24 to72hrs depending on the fruit kind and maturity stage.
- Air circulation: Sufficient to ensure distribution of ethylene within the ripening room.
- Ventilation: Adequate air exchange to prevent accumulation of CO2, which reduces effectiveness of ethylene.
