Qualities of hay:

• It should have a typical aroma of the forage from which it has been prepared.
• It should be free from foreign materials like dust.
• It should possess reasonable green color.
• It should maintain leafiness of the original fodder.
• It should be palatable to animals. Poorly prepared hay are not accepted by animals.
