• These enters the Kreb’s cycle and are oxidized to carbon dioxide and water.
• The glycerol is first converted to dihydroxy acetone phosphate which is then converted to acetyl ATP.
• The net gain is 22 mole per mole of glycerol of ATP from ADP.
