Identification

  • Egg : laying on soil
  • Nymph : similar but are smaller and lack
  • Adult : Field crickets are black or dark brown insects about 1 inch long as adults. They have large hind legs (for jumping) and most have well-developed wings

 

Management

  • Deep ploughing during winter
  • Flooding the field
  • Blue type wasp is predator
  • Fenitrothion 50%Ec @1ml/l.
