Identification

  • Egg : white, flat and
  • Larva : white and turns
  • Pupa : Most pupation occurs in the top layer of soil beneath cotton
  • Adult : dark brown body, numerous black spot on wings, frings are present on both forewings and hindwings. Venetaion are found in hind wings .

 

Lifecycle

Egg–3-4 days —-> larva –12-15 days–> Pupa 007-8 days–> Adult

 

Management

  • Early maturing variety preferred .
  • Distruction of offseason cotton sprouts /alternate
  • Acid delinted
  • Balanced
  • Pheromones traps and light
  • Trichogramma @150000 weekly
  • Avoid rattoning .
  • Seed fumigation .
  • Chloropyriphos @1-2 ml/l.
