Red ant ( Doryllus orentalis, Dorylidae, Hymenoptera)

Identification
- Male : dark brown in color, two pair of membranous
- Worker : mainly damaged to host plant, eye absent, sterial female .
Female : larger body, eyeess, 2 pair of wings . Layiong egg in soil below 3-5 cm in ground level. Hatch in 1wks and 2 wks in pupa
Management
- Solution of azadiractin @100ml/l in soil near the plant stem.
- Drench water diluted cow urine (1:5 urine:water)+ tobacco dust (5g in every 1 l iter of diluted cow urine)in the soil @100ml/plant at tuber initiation.
- Application of chloropyrifos in soil, dursban10%G @ 1kg/ropani before planting.
