Concept of Cropping System :

Farming System: An arrangement of farm enterprises and its management in response to biophysical and socioeconomic factors to fulfill family goal.

 

Cropping System: The cropping pattern used on a farm and their interaction with farm resources, other enterprises and environment.

 

Cropping pattern: The yearly sequence and spatial arrangement of crops and fallow on a given area. The cropping pattern indicates the proportion of area under different crops at a point of time.
