a) Virginia type:

  • The main stem itself bears no inflorescence directly, but a pair of reproductive and vegetative branches alternate on the lateral branches from the main stem.

 

b) Spanish-Valencia type:

  • The main stem bears inflorescence, vegetative and reproductive branches occur in sequence.

 

B) According to Waldron

a) Erect or bunch type:

  • Including Arachis hypogaea ssp. fastiglata

 

b) Trailing or spreading type:

  • including Arachis hypogaea ssp. Procumbens

 

C) Based on habit of growth, testa color, size, and other pod and leaf characteristics
