Introduction

  • The gradual process of change from one form to another i.e. from egg to adult is called metamorphosis.
  • There are four kinds of metamorphosis, complete (butterflies), gradual (grasshoppers), incomplete (dragonflies) and no metamorphosis (Silverfish).
  • The exact style of metamorphosis is not the same for all insects, but insects in the same order have the same style of metamorphosis.
