Binomial expansion

  • The set of terms along with their coefficient obtained by expanding the binomial (a+b)n is known as binomial expansion.
  • Applicable to any events in which the no. of mutually exclusive events is two.
  • Simplification of (a+b)n in this manner yield the following expansion i.e.

(a+b)n = an + an-1+ an-2b2+ …….+ bn
