- Off-season cultivation of vegetable refers to the production of the vegetable before or after their normal cultivation seasons of production.
- This can be accomplished by using the different agro-climatic conditions, adjusting the planting time, selecting and improving the varieties or by creating the controlled environment by making the plastic tunnels, polythene houses, permanent glass houses etc.

- It needs skilled knowledge than the normal seasons production
- Production cost of vegetable is higher.
- It is riskier business as there is always threat of insects , pests and diseases .
- Off-seasons production can be adopted in commercial if is near by the market.
