Nature of wool :

  • It has elastic and hygroscopic.
  • It is non-inflammable and durable
  • Naturally water proof
  • Bad conductor of Heat and electricity
  • Retain warmth and create heat
  • It is devoid of medulla and skin cells
  • Fine enough to make soft fiber yarn.

  1. Genetic factor
  2. Physiological and environmental factor
  • Nutritional state
  • Hormones (pituitary , thyroid , growth hormone , Adeno cortico-tropic hormone)
  • Parasites and diseases
  • Sunlight and photoperiod
  • Season and climate
  • Exogenous chemical like CPA
  • Interval between shearing (Shearing is done generally twice in a year i.e. feb/ March and Sept/ oct.)
