Wool shearing Methods :

1) Hand Shearing :

• Shear with sharpen blades
• Time consuming
• Fleece cannot be cut evenly
• Can be done at any times
• cannot be applied on commercial farming.

2) Machine shearing :

• Shear with mechanically operated machine.
• Time saving
• Fleece can be cut evenly

3) Chemical shearing :

• rug like cyclophosphamide (CPA) at 24 mg /kg / body weight is used.
• It arrest cell division in follicle causing break in the wool.
• Excessive usual overdose causes wool fall.
